What constitutes a donation?

There is a bit of legality involved in making a donation. In order to validate a gift of real property, or the act of giving any sort of gratuity to another person or organization, it is advised that, if the sum is significant, an attorney set up the proper documentation allocating the donation to the correct party. Once this documentation is authorized the donor is obligated to satisfy the perimeters established in that written agreement. In the event that something happens to the donor, the documentation ensures that the correct sum is given to the party the donor intended.
